First UK sighting of electric Citroën Survolt race car
All-electric Citroën Survolt race car concept makes UK debut
Citroën Survolt all-electric racing car charges up The Mall
Citroën’s Survolt all-electric race car concept made its dynamic UK debut as part of The Prince of Wales’ Start Eco Car Spectacular, which was held on The Mall, in the shadow of Buckingham Palace, on Sunday 12th September, 2010.
The Survolt’s full electric drivetrain combines dynamic, sporting performance with environmental consideration. With compact dimensions and a lightweight frame (1.15 tonnes), the Survolt features a tubular chassis, a flat underside with extractor and full carbon bodywork, all combining to make a genuine emissions-free, all-electric racing car.
Propelled by two electric motors with a combined power of 300bhp, the Survolt is capable of exceptional performance with a top speed of 162mph and a 0-62mph time of under five seconds. The concept’s twin 140kg lithium-ion batteries each have a 31 kW capacity, which allows Survolt to cover 124 miles on a single charge.
