Mitsubishi, Best Buy and Eaton Corp to sell and install home chargers.
Mitsubishi announces Best Buy/Eaton collaboration at 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show
Mitsubishi is determined to support its all-electric i-MiEV when it launches in November 2011. The company has announced a new partnership with Best Buy and the Eaton Corporation which will halve the battery charging time in owners’ homes.
Best Buy’s ‘Geek Squad’ division - a nationwide 24-hour task force of more than 20,000 highly skilled technicians – will sell, perform site analysis and manage the installation of advanced home chargers manufactured by Eaton Corporation. The chargers will cut the battery charging time of the i-MiEV’s lithium ion batteries in half over a standard 110V (15A) electrical outlet.
Eaton Corporation, with approximately 70,000 employees doing business in more than 150 countries, is a good hardware partner as the company has more than 20 years experience in designing and manufacturing hybrid and electrical power systems in commercial vehicles.
