Renault Twizy looks pricey
6th July 2011. The all-electric Renault Twizy comes to Britain early next year with a price tag of only £6,690 OTR.
When the much anticipated electric Renault Twizy hits our shores early in 2012, it'll cost only only £6,690 OTR!
But wait. The battery is extra - £40 per month extra for 36 months. That takes the total amount you’ll have paid after three years to £8,130 (and you still won’t own the battery!).
Yes, but the Twizy offers bags of French chic in a city vehicle that can park in the tightest spaces.
OK, so it does, but doors are extra and you’ll have to contend with British weather. Not French.
Yes, but Renault says the Twizy ‘looks set to send shockwaves through the industry, as well as the corridors of rival city car and scooter manufacturers’.
Well, maybe. But it only has two seats (one behind the other) and £8130 is a lot to spend on a scooter. And for £915 less you could buy a five seat Chevrolet Spark city car with ABS brakes, power steering, six airbags and three doors.
You’re just nit-picking. And besides, do you really want a Chevrolet?
Er, compared to a Twizy with a 62 mile range, I could live with it.
